A word from the President
In fighting for their lives with amazing strength and courage, preemies can overcome inconceivable ordeals. These tiny yet resilient babies are an extremely powerful symbol of life.
In neonatology units, their parents often with strained faces, try to give their very best to their children. There are frequent noise, monitors, alarms ringing, stress, fear and insomnia. Even in the heat of action, one quickly realizes that this environment isn’t easy. From the outside, however, friends and family have trouble understanding.
Some days are good; others are worse. You feel as if you’re riding an emotional roller coaster. You see other parents suffering. Even when things seem to be improving, you can witness the worst. Prematurity is a battle waged every single day.
When you see the sign on the neonatal door, announcing that a discussion group will take place to explain prematurity and everything it entails, you feel as if a lifeline has been tossed to you. Someone will help you understand what’s going on!
Préma-Québec offers practical services. Préma-Québec improves quality of life for premature babies and their families. Préma-Québec provides excellence in all it undertakes.
Word from the Board of Directors
Dear parents, staff, volunteers and partners for the cause, I am pleased to present the Préma-Québec 2018-2019 annual activity report. My year as President of the Board of Directors has been a busy one, marked by a colossal effort from the organization’s staff.
The development of strategic orientations, among other accomplishments, should allow Préma-Québec to be even more available to its members and to pursue its path during the coming year. We have consolidated the mission accordingly.
As President of the Board of Directors and a parent, I can assure you that Préma-Québec definitely improves quality of life for premature babies and their families.
Families, volunteers, neonatologists, nurses, donors, funding partners, employees – you are the foundation that allows us to continue our work. THANK YOU.
